THE TRUE DEFINITION OF COMRADERY
September 10th marked the start of the United Wolf Pack’s bowling season with practice held at Empire Bowl.
Athletes of many ages were present, along with coaches, volunteers and family members. Many came to practice their bowling skills, but all came ready to cheer one another on.

For both experienced bowlers and rookies, practice included surprisingly high scores as well as disappointingly low scores. Despite the emotional ups and downs of the day, athletes shared high fives for strikes and gutter balls alike. Family members were witnessed getting into the spirit with spontaneous victory dances when their bowler got a strike.

As practice wrapped up, the parent of a young athlete shared that it had been a great part of their day thanks to the enthusiasm of everyone present. The parent of one of the veteran athletes commented that even though each of the athletes was bowling individually, practice still felt very much like a team event.

No matter the final scores, the general consensus was a good time had by all, and the overall goal of having fun was definitely a STRIKE!!!!
TALES FROM THE TREASURER

The United Wolf Pack held our annual Poker Run/Silent Auction on August 27th, 2022. It was a beautiful day for the event, and we had over 100 participants and 60 motorcycles for our run. Cash prizes were awarded for the top three poker hands, and there were several drawings for donated door prizes. We had a great turn out for the tasty meal afterward, and our silent auction was also very successful.

We would like to thank the volunteers, donors, and sponsors that make this event a success every year!
Almost one-third of our annual fundraising income is a result of this event. Those funds help us provide our athletes with opportunities to practice and participate in the Special Olympics of South Dakota sports of bowling, basketball, swimming, track and field, power lifting, cheer and softball. The Wolf Pack also strives to provide additional specialized practices and events for our basketball players, track and field participants, power lifters and swimmers.
Again, we are not a state funded team and rely on fundraising events like these to help us achieve our team goals.
Thank you for your continued support!
